Travel Journal

2-6-10. Still in Ethiopia. Chris.

Yep, still in Ethiopia. Our flight was cancelled last night because of a blizzard in D.C. Supposedly Dulles Airport hasn't closed since 1996 and wouldn't you know it, it closed when we were supposed to leave Ethiopia. It turned out to be a good thing though because Ephraim had a rough day yesterday, Laurel was feeling jet-lagged and caught a cold, and I was also jet-lagged and pretty cranky. We all got a great night's sleep with no interruptions. We woke up feeling rested and refreshed. And Ephraim's stomach problems finally started to take shape (pun intended).

It's been an amazing trip, Lord. It's been a blessing, but also heartbreaking to see the hurt that is here. What should we do about it? Help us to see what You want us to do. It hurts my heart, Lord. I can't imagine how you must feel. We're here adopting Ephraim. I feel like there's something else, though.

I'll be listening, Lord. Amen.
